Introducing … (drum roll please) … our first ever…
Diocese of Eastern Michigan Family Camp!
June 28th – July 5th, 2009
Camp Chickagami’s Board of Directors would like to extend an invitation. We’d like to invite individuals, couples and families to our brand new Diocese of Eastern Michigan Family Camp.
Our hope is to introduce our wonderful camp grounds, facilities, program and staff to our Diocese of Eastern Michigan family members. We believe we’ve designed a family camp session sure to appeal to all ages …
We’ve made it so easy and affordable for you! We’ll provide:
- Lodging, (lodge style or dorm style cabins and RV/ tent space accommodations
- Two Meals per Day – Big Breakfast & Dinner, (we chose not to provide lunch so as to allow families the option to take their own light lunch down to the beach or take a day trip off site).
- Program – Family Campers will be able to choose from a wide variety of optional daily “Camper’s Choice” activities, eg; Archery, Arts & Crafts, Boating, Fishing, Horseshoes, Hikes, Nature Activities, Tennis and more. Our beach will also be open and staffed by a lifeguard for two or more hours daily.
- Christian Formation – Come join in Christian Formation time each morning. We’ll share wonderfully, rich Godly Play or Beulah Land stories followed by creative response time.
- All Camp Eve Activities – Join in the fun as we sing songs, share stories and skits and toast marshmallows at the Campfire. Play a role as we turn the camp into a Gold Rush town for Klondike night or come play a rousing game of Softball or Volleyball!
- Evening worship opportunities – Compline, Night Prayer from the New Zealand prayer book, etc.
- Some family members may just prefer some peace & quiet, time to read a book, take a nap, or go for a walk and that’s ok too. All activities are completely optional!
Family Camp will be staffed by Camp Director, Tom Smith, Christian Formation Leader, Kris Forsyth and a handful of college age Camp Staffers.
