INSTRUCTIONAL STAFF JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to:  Camp Director or Staff Director

  1. General Responsibilities
    1. Be Familiar with Camp goals and objectives
    2. Prepare and teach resource-based or theme-based sessions to campers according to the program set by the Camp Director or Staff Director
    3. Assist in behavior management of campers at all times
    4. Know and follow camp policies and procedures
    5. Promote camp spirit and positive youth development
  2. Specific Responsibilities
    1. Develop the Christian Formation Programs
      1. Develop or Use an existing program that will engage campers in development of positive Christian values and or modeling using age appropriate materials and subject matter.
      2. Help in Preparation of Morning Worship and possibly with evening programs or Compline
      3. Recruit others (preferably a team of two, three, or four) to help develop and implement the morning formation program.
    2. Participate in Staff Orientation, Meetings and Evaluation Sessions
      1. Staff orientation will be held twice, once before camp sessions begin, and once between the two camp weeks.  Instructional Staff are required to attend at least one of these sessions to help orient them to the camp, and to share with the counseling staff the planned program
      2. Meet with staff during the camp week to check on program updates, concerns and success.
  3. Qualifications
    1. At least 21 years of age.
    2. Openness to participating in Christian worship and learning programs
