REGISTER FOR CAMP

The Episcopal Diocese of the Great Lakes offers transformative programming experiences at Camp Chickagami (Presque Isle) and Stony Lake Camp (New Era) for young people, families, and adults.

You and your family are welcome here.
As an Episcopal camp program, we strive to be a brave space where all campers belong. We celebrate and affirm diverse backgrounds, identities, beliefs, abilities, and family structures. We're also committed to removing barriers to access. Through generous partnerships with the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan and funding from the Episcopal Diocese of the Great Lakes, we provide free, safe, accessible transportation for each camp session.

Our overnight youth camp sessions combine classic camp fun with meaningful faith exploration. Campers swim, try archery, create art, and play games while building leadership skills, independence, and lifelong friendships. Each location offers unique experiences: Stony Lake Camp features high- and low-adventure courses, while Camp Chickagami offers field trips, including a Glass Bottom Boat tour and swimming at Ocqueoc Falls. Throughout the week, our Christian Formation team leads age-appropriate, engaging programs that help campers explore their faith and spirituality through shared experience and reflection.

This session is for youth entering 9th to 12th grade. It runs from Sunday to Friday.

Our overnight camp sessions are fantastic residential programs overflowing with fun activities like outdoor adventures, creative crafts, exciting games, and more! Campers will have the wonderful opportunity to team up with our Christian Formation leaders to explore their faith in engaging, age-appropriate, and self-directed ways. Throughout the week, campers build valuable leadership skills and gain independence and create lasting friendships that they’ll cherish for years to come!

NEW THIS YEAR! An optional off-site end of week event!
The Big Provincial Gathering and Provincial Youth Event! The Episcopal Diocese of the Great Lakes is apart of Province V in the Episcopal Church. Every year there is a Big Provincial Gathering that happens somewhere in our Province, and this year it's happening in Kalamazoo! Senior Campers will leave camp at Stony Lake on Thursday evening after dinner and travel to Kalamazoo to join youth from around the Province for the Provincial Youth Event and the Big Provincial Gathering. Students will need to be picked up from Kalamazoo on Saturday afternoon and more logistical details will be communicated via email. If you have questions about this, please email camping@greatlakesepiscopal.org.

TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM CAMP: FREE transportation will be available for this session to and from camp. We are making final arrangements for this and will connect with all registered campers as soon as details are available.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE: Check-in is from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on your session start date, and check-out starts at 1:00 p.m. on your session end date. While we’re working hard to prepare for your arrival and ensure everything runs smoothly, please note that we can’t accommodate early arrivals or departures unless we’ve arranged that together in advance.

Additional information about registration, program structure, what's included, staffing & safety, making camp accessible, scholarships, inclusion, draft schedules, and an in-depth FAQ can be found on our website.

We hire a team of about 25 camp counselors each summer and are always looking to expand our team!

If you or someone you know is interested in working at camp this summer, we would welcome your application! If you have previously volunteered or worked with Camp Chickagami or Episcopal Youth Camp, we would love to have a conversation about you coming back to camp this summer without needing to make a full-summer commitment. All of our camp counselors are paid staff, unless they choose to volunteer their time.
